Xmas Fairies - Blue & Pink

I've got not one, but two Christmas fairy cards to share today, both on the same theme, but using different images.  I love these sweet fairy images from Sugar Nellie, and I think they deserve to be the centre of attention.  I've also used my two favourite colours, pink and blue.  Don't forget to pop over to the Sugar Bowl Challenge to enter the 'anything goes' challenge which starts today.

Hello Bunny

I'm sharing some pinky cuteness today with a bunny image from LOTV.  He's a present from the lovely Squirrel that I've inked up for the first time, and teamed him (or her maybe) with some lovely pink papers also from LOTV.

The die's a new one for me, and the first time I've used it.  It's quite big, but I think it's a lovely font style.  I did trim off the loops at either end so that it fitted on the card a bit better.

Pink Snow Queen

I have an addiction.

I saw a Doohickey Merry Xmas tag die on a card and just knew that I needed it.

Very simply, I had to have it.

So I searched for it and found it in stock online.

And then spluttered at the price.

I slept on it.

Then bought it the next day.

And I love it !!! :0)

Happy Anniversary

Today's card is to support the challenge at As You Like It Challenge where the theme is to celebrate your favourite period of your life.

I've interpreted the theme slightly outside the box as it is an anniversary card to celebrate 10 years with my lovely hubby.  It therefore celebrates the whole of the last decade of happy memories.

A little cheesy perhaps, but nevertheless, a celebration of my favourite decade! :0)

Antiques Roadshow - Midsummer Night

I've got another reminder card for Squirrel's Antiques Roadshow today, and again this image is one I've had for a while but not used much.  I think I struggled with a theme for her, but I think I've got it right with this sentiment!

Again the flowers, pearls and coloured twine are firm staples in my stash (I have them in pretty much every colour!), and even pearl dots were bought over a year ago.

So dig out your own old stuff and pop over to Squirrel's blog to link up your creation.

Antiques Roadshow - Blossom

We're still playing our Antiques Roadshow challenge over on Squirrel's blog and I've got another sample to get you in the mood.

This Lili of the Valley image is an oldie, but I've not used her much, the dies (Go Kreate Labels for the die cut card base, and the Magnolia Swirl die) were early dies in my collection and the flowers and pearls are kind of staples in my stash (I have them in practically every colour!).

Even the Viva pearl pen was bought a couple of years ago.

Red Squirrels

Today's card is a prime example of why I don't do wet embossing.

It simply goes everywhere except where you actually want it.

I did wonder if I should have added some more, but quite frankly, I decided that I should quit before I totally ruined my image.

The image is a new one for me and I spent ages fiddling with the shading on those little squirrels.

Despite that, I was quite pleased with the end result, so kept the layout of the card quite clean and simple to highlight the image.

And then I had the bright idea of adding the frantage ......

I'll get my coat.

Have a Fairy Happy Birthday

Today's card features one of my newer images, and also some lovely papers, both from LOTV.  I've stitched the image panel, added a fishtail banner down the side, popped on some pink pompom trim and a paper flower held on with a fabric brad.

Fox on Branch

I've had this image coloured up for a while, but have not got around to making a card to go around him.  He's a lovely fox and as soon as I saw him in the new release I knew that I had to have him! This was meant to be a masculine card, but I've teamed him with papers from a pad called 'Country Lady' as well as adding a lacey border die and a bow.

D'oh!

Time Flies

The name of the image I've used today is called 'Time Flies' which is kinda appropriate as I've used her on a clock!  This one is mounted on chocolate brown mount board, and I've used a colour scheme of pink and green.  I've even graduated those colours in the numbering of the hours and quite liked the effect.

I've stamped around the clock face with mini leaf and flower stamps from Cardio and decorated the outside of the clock with flowers and pearls, making sure they wouldn't catch the second hand which is quite long.

Gardening

The theme this fortnight at As You Like It Challenge is to make something either representing land or sea, whichever is your favourite.

Although I live by the sea and love the beauty of the coastal views, I'm actually not very fond of boats (might be the absence of sea legs!) and can't remember the last time I ever went in the sea.

I'm much more of a country girl; growing up listening to a sheep chorus from the fields behind our house, riding horses when I was younger and spending lots of time visiting my friend on her family's farm just down the road from our house.

I love the changing seasons represented in the fields, trees and animals.

I like the romance of country farmhouses and open gardens.

And despite the aching limbs which I end up with, I do actually quite like tending my little plot of land in my own garden, growing veggies and flowers amongst the mass of weeds.

So today's card for me represents land, with a spot of gardening.

And in case you've not seen it, there's a special offer of 15% off some sprintime images at Lili of the Valley, and it's on until Sunday. So get your skates on and get over to the special offer page for some Lili bargains.

Springtime

I got this image a couple of weeks ago and have just got around to inking him up.  Isn't he a cutie! I've kept the colours simple, just pink and brown, so even the little birdie in the basket is pink.

Is anybody else suddenly craving strawberries and chocolate?

Pink Pixie

Well that bank holiday disappeared quickly.  I managed to get some gardening done in the sunshine early yesterday morning, before the usual bank holiday wet weather set at lunchtime and thoughtfully watered in all my plants for me all afternoon and evening.  Still, at least that meant I could rest my back, which was aching from all the digging, and spend the afternoon on a date with my paintbrush.

Flower Girl

My favourite new Uptown Girlie is having another outing, this time in more traditional colours of pink, purple and red.  I don't know why she daunted me at first, because I really love her now.  :0)

She is promoting the new challenge at Without Words Challenge where the theme is to use the colours pink, blue and yellow, with an option of floral if that tickles your fancy.

I hope that you can join in.

Antiques Roadshow - I baked a cake

I'm sharing a second sample today to remind you about the Antiques Roadshow challenge over on Squirrel's blog.  All the details are on her blogpost, but in short you need to dust off your old stash and take a trip down memory lane with us.

After Penny Black stamps, Lili images were my next addiction in rubber. This image is now sadly retired, and I've not even used it very much.  The sentiment stamp is an oldie too; a freebie from a magazine that I've had for years.

The flowers and Go Kreate lables die that I've used to cut the card-base and image panel are also favourite oldies, as are the Maja Design papers.

I hope I've inspired you to pop over to Squirrel's blog to see the other samples from both Squirrel and Jayne, and to link up your creations.

Antiques Roadshow - Hedgies

Do you remember the pingu and snowman challenges that Squirrel hosted just before Xmas?  Well she's rallied the troublesome trio again for a fun new challenge starting today.  This time, the theme is called "Antiques Roadshow" and you need to dig out and showcase some old and forgotten stash.  So dust off those stamps that you'd forgotten you had, and give them some inky loving!

My immediate thought when we discussed the theme was Penny Black.  These critters were the images that started my addiction to stamping; I especially adore those little hedgies and mice and quickly became addicted. Therefore my card today features one of the hedgie images.

The border die I've used is also one of my oldest, and I've even had the green pearls for about 2 years (I bought a bag of 100 so even by using them in trios, they're lasting me a little while!).  The papers are probably a bit more recent than 2 years, but still ones I've had a while.

I'll be back tomorrow with another sample, but I hope I've inspired you to pop over to Squirrel's blog to see the other samples from both Squirrel and Jayne, and to link up your 'antique' laden creations.

Just swinging by to wish you Happy Birthday

I'm showcasing another of the new Tiddly Ink releases again today, this one's another fun image of Wryn on her tyre swing.  I had a bit of a job with her hair as I foolishly coloured it the same colour as the background tree. She might have to pop to the hairdressers and have it dyed blond before playing near trees again.  I added some chalked clouds to finish off the scene. Hope you liker her.
