Hokey Pokey

Yup, I know it's not Saturday, but I've got a bit carried away with my stash from The Stamp Basket, and made another card to share today.

I didn't overload the card with embellies as I wanted to show off the backing paper and image, both of which are gorgeous.

Christmas Birdie

It's Saturday, so I've got another card to share today on behalf of The Stamp Basket.  This one is bright red, a colour I don't usually use, but I was inspired by the cute papers and gorgeous bright ribbon that I'd picked out.  Plus the girlie in the image looked like she needed a red coat and hat.

I really love the holly paper in this card.  It is quite soft, and because it is quite a busy pattern, it does not show up the imperfections in my cutting around the shaped card.  Here's a tip guys, never,  I repeat NEVER, try to cut around a shaped card with a plain backing paper. Oh my word, it shows up EVERY little imperfection in your shape, however careful you think you're cutting around it.  A busy pattern seems to hide them all.  Love it !!

    White with a hint

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is White with a Hint.  I've used a bit of colour on my image, but tried to keep the colours pale.  I've only used white embellishments too, something that I rarely do, but when I see it on other blogs it looks lovely.

The matting card behind the image and sentiment is actually silver mirror card,  but it looks black.  I just can't photograph silver mirror card.  Any tips on this subject are extremely welcome!!!

    Dear Santa ... Define 'good'

Welcome to my 600th post and the second week of our 'S for Santa Claus' challenge at the ABC Christmas Challenge.

I've made a mid-way reminder card using a sexy little image from Saturated Canary and a sentiment which reads : Dear Santa ... Define 'good'.

This is definitely a card for the man in your life !!! LOL

    Good with Food

This fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is Good with Food.  I've made a little gift pouch and decorated it with a yummy cake image.  It could also be filled with edible delights, so either way it fits the theme.

    Jules

A couple of challenges caught my eye over the weekend so I've made a card with them in mind.  I've used a girlie image called Jules that I've only had a week or two, so this is the first time I've coloured her. I think I need to print her larger next time as she was a bit small to colour.  To make her more proportional for the card I decided to use a smaller card base and she doesn't look too small any more.   Most of my cards are 6 inches, but this one is just 5 inches.

    Sharing a Biscuit

I've got another card to share today on behalf of The Stamp Basket cos I got a bit carried away with my DT kit and couldn't help but be inspired by these beautiful Nitwits papers.

This card is so 'me' with the soft blues and white snowflakes.  The backing papers are from the Nitwits Joyful Hearts collection and the quality is just amazing.  When I call it backing 'paper', it is thicker card than my card base and just feels gorgeous.  I really had to force myself to use it because it just felt too good to cut up.  It has a lovely fabric appearance too.

The adorable image is from Nellie Snellen. I've not coloured her before and I know she is already one of my favourites from the collection with the cute little squirrel.

I am also addicted to Glamour Dust. It is so much finer in texture than stickles and looks fantastic.  You need some clear wet glue (I use glossy accents) and sprinkle it on, and you get a stunning sparkle.

    Bildmalarna

This is my first week as a guest designer at  The Stamp Basket.  It was exactly a week ago today when a hefty package from Janet was passed over the threshold by Mr Postie.  She had packed me up such a beautiful array of products to showcase that I hardly knew where to start.

Here's the result of my first bout of creativity.  It's also my first ever card using Bildmalarna images so this is really new for me.  The cute girlie looks like a little doll in her red coat and green scarf.

I've also fallen in love with the Memory Box Corner Bow die which is just perfect for this size of card (6inches).

    Toby Busy Winter

It's Friday so there is a new release and freebie at StampFairy called Toby Busy Winter.  Toby is one of my favourite Stampfairy characters, so I'm delighted he's out playing in the snow today.  I've used some complementary papers, showcasing more trees, to match the one Toby's carrying.

      Flower Power

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is Flower Power.   How easy is that!!

Although I've not got flowers on my image, I've got flowers on my backing paper and also got some paper flower embellishments too.

I've also got quite a few butterflies too, on the papers and also on the ribbon, although the ribbon is quite sheer, so the butterfly design doesn't show up well in the picture.

      Santa's Naughty Boy List

It's the letter 'S' at the ABC Christmas Challenge which is Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

I've included a sassy little Santa related sentiment rather than an image of Santa.

And I LOVE it !!!   Hope it makes you smile too.

      Pink Fairy Dust Tilda

We're halfway through this fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday which is Recycle it.  I've made a mid-way reminder card to share.  I've used ribbon that was wrapping on a gift that was given to me by my mother-in-law during her recent visit in August.  I love pink so the ribbon was kept and used on this card.  The pink card which the image, sentiment and backing panel are layered on is also recycled from an old file divider.

      Some Exciting News

No card to share today, but I do have some exciting news.  The lovely Janet at The Stamp Basket has invited me to showcase some of her products as a guest designer.  I'm really excited as her shop is full of gorgeous products that I love.  She has dies, stamps, gems, papers, ribbons, punches ... the list goes on!

So over the next few weeks I'll be showcasing some of her products.  But when my kit arrived this weekend, I couldn't resist a bit of colouring.  So I've got a sneak peak to share with you today as a little advance teaser!  Stop by again later this week to see my first showcase.

The Stamp Basket also has a sale on for the next 24 hours with lots of discounts so pop over there quickly before the sale ends tomorrow.

      Playtime

I've got a just for fun card to share today.  I've used my lovely Papermania papers again, using  two contrasting colours of pink and purple.  The purple strip is actually just an offcut from another card I made, and the purple backing card makes it look a bit bigger cos it was only a slither of a strip.  I really like this colour combo.  Hope you do too.

A 'Cracker' of a new release - Gingerbabies Hula Hoops

It's Friday so there is a new release and freebie at StampFairy called Gingerbabies Hula Hoops.

Every year I pledge to make my own Christmas Crackers.  Every year I give in and buy them.

It is so much effort to collate all the components (hats, snaps, jokes and the added pressure I put on myself to insert personalised gifts for each individual).

But this year, I am going to make the effort.  When I saw this circular image I thought it was was perfect for decorating my first one.  I'm hoping to make more over the next few weeks so I have enough in time for Christmas.

      Well, that's the plan anyway.

Either that, or we'll all have to fight over who gets this one!

Fairies are only a dream away

It's eyes down for Bingo this week at Lili's Little Fairies.  I have to admit that I got a bit carried away and used all of the bingo items instead of just picking a row because I had so much fun with all my embellies on this challenge.  I'm definitely a 'pile-'em-on' kinda girl rather than a 'less is more' fan.  I did cheat a bit as I combined the gem and brad by using a gemstone brad to hold on my charm!!  But this is definitely my kind of card; pretty papers, ribbons, lace, pearls, a charm and of course lots of fairy glitter.

It was actually made for a lovely lady called Nicola who wanted a card from the fairies for her daughter Alexandra.  The sentiment inside reads "Fairies are only a dream away ...".

Here's the Bingo Card,  eyes down .....
