Ho Ho Ho

It is Friday so there is a new release and freebie today at Stamp Fairy.  Today's set is Christmas Kids.

Here is a card I've made using one of the digis from the newly released set and the matching freebie.  This is a real stray away from my normal fussy style, and all it contains is the coloured image, an embossed card base, and stickles.

Please pop on over to Stamp Fairy to see the newly released digi images.  Here's a preview of the full set:

Sparkling inspiration

It is the second week of this fortnight's Sparkle challenge at Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog, so the team have created some mid-challenge inspiration for you.

Today, I'm featuring the newly released (and oh-so-cute) Barry Bedtime.  This time though, I've coloured him in blue (yep, your eyes are not deceiving you, I did say blue) for the Copic challenge which is coloured fur.  I actually think he's rather cute in blue for a change!

Fancy Folds

There is a new challenge today at Incy Wincy, and the theme to play along with this week is Fancy Folds, so I've opted for a criss cross card, which I am really starting to like.

We're sponsored by Karen's Doodles who have kindly supplied some digi images for the design team to showcase.

Have fun with the freebie !!!

Just for Fun

Well this is rare.  I've got something to share that is not a DT project !!!   It has taken flippin' ages, but I've really loved it, and am really pleased with the result.

It all started when the lovely Sandy at Hugs & Holidays asked me if I would like to decorate some of her fabulous bags.  Well, when she sent them to me, I could not believe how beautifully made they are. They are all lined, beautifully stitched and her attention to detail is stunning.  She makes them in some lovely fabrics, but the ones she sent to me were plain white and cream, ready for some serious decorating!!

Around the same time as my lovely package arrived from Sandy,  the talented designer Krista Smith (Saturated Canary) opened her Etsy shop again with some stunning digis, and of course I could not resist.

I've made a really simple card, and decorated the bag using a matching image and some t-shirt transfer paper from my local craft shop.

I'm so pleased with the result and it makes a great gift set, but let me know what you think.

Here's the card, really clean and simple, but the image is very detailed so I think it would have been too much with a lot of embellies.
Here's the baggie, decorated with ribbon, lace, liquid pearls and, of course, glitter :
Here's a close up of the baggie, where you can see the image and all the embellies more clearly :

And the back of the bag, with some crocheted flowers, pearl buttons and lace :

I'd love to know what you think, so please leave a comment.

Barry Bedtime

It is Friday so there is a new release and freebie today at Stamp Fairy.  I think today's set of images is probably one of my favourites (do I say that every week !!! LOL), but I just love these images.   Today's set is Barry Bedtime.

Here is a card I've made using one of the digis from the newly released set.  You should be able to tell that I just adore this image because I've decorated the inside of the card and used it again !!  I was going to use the freebie on the inside, but I just couldn't resist using Barry again !  What'cha think?

Add Sparkle and a Stamped Gift Idea

There is a new challenge today at Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog, and the theme to play along with this fortnight is SPARKLE.  This is such an easy challenge so there really is no excuse not to play along.  Don't forget to use your cute StampFairy digis though.

Here's my card, with added sparkle.  I've used glitter on the snow and igloo, I've added some glitter to the flowers, and there is also gold glitter in the gorgeous holly ribbon.

I've also decorated a matching tissue pouch, which was made by my uber talented Etsy friend Sandy at HugsAndHolidays.  She sent me these little pouches to decorate in 3 different colours, and I'm sharing pics of the first one today.  She made the plain pouch and added the pink spotty edge, so I've used that edging colour as my inspiration.  I used the same pink spotty pattern for the backing paper on my card, inside and out, and then I decorated the pouch using a little holly rubber stamp, and coloured the images in with my markers, and added red liquid pearls for the berries.  I therefore used a gorgeous holly ribbon on the card to match it.  Here's a pic of the pouch:

Don't forget to pop on over to Hugs And Holidays to see the fab fabric items Sandy has made. Her attention to detail is amazing and her items are really high quality.  I'll be posting more pics of more of her things that I've decorated in the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled for more gift ideas!!!

De-stressing with Distressing

There is a new challenge today at Incy Wincy, and the theme to play along with this week is distressing. This is not my normal technique, so bear with me on this one !!!  I've torn, sanded, inked and generally done everything I can to ruin 3 layers of perfectly lovely bits of card, all in the name of distressing.  It just seems to go against the grain for me!  I've also used two twinkly white ribbons but they don't show up much in the piccy.

We're sponsored by the fabulous StampFairy who have kindly supplied some cute digi images for the design team to showcase.

GDT at Creative Craft - Buttons & Bling

I've got some exciting news to share with you today, because I'm a guest designer for Creative Craft Challenges for a month.

Creative Craft Challenges are being sponsored by Love to Stamp and The Crafty Pad so there are some great prizes up for grabs if you join in this fortnight's theme of Buttons and Bling.

I'm also excited because it has given me an opportunity to play with a new StampFairy image that had been on my wish-list for a while.  He is Barry Winter, and I've used 2 images from the adorable set, because as with most of my favourite cards, I've got carried away and decorated the inside of the card too.

I've added the bling in the form of gems where the snowflakes are, and the buttons are actually spotty, so they look like more snow. I also added a lot of stickles and glitter glue, although it doesn't show up much in the pic.

Here's the front of my card :

And here's the inside, with an added sentiment using a snowflake font :

Card Recipe:
  • Image -  Barry Winter from Stamp Fairy
  • Nesties - Lacey Squares and Beaded Ovals
  • Sentiment - Meljens
  • Papers - Summertime Designs
  • Colouring mediums - Promarkers and Copics
  • Embossing folder - Swiss Dots
  • Buttons - Papermania
  • From my stash - Glitter glue, stickles, gems, embroidery thread
I hope to see you all join in the challenge, and please pop over to the Creative Craft challenge blog to see the other fab designs by the other DT members and join in the Buttons and Bling challenge this fortnight.

Whilst I've got your attention, there are also 2 new cute releases at Stamp Fairy today, so pop along to see the new images.  I've got some sneak previews below.

Black & White plus (mainly) One Colour

There is a new challenge today at 2 Sisters Challenges, and the theme to play along with this week is Black & White + 1 Colour.  However, there is a 'little' bit of leeway on the image as some images are just impossible to colour in just one colour, so the image may have a teeny bit of additional colour, but the rest of the card must be B&W+1.

We're sponsored by Patties Creations, and Glitterbabes who have kindly supplied some digi images for the design team to showcase.

Don't forget that I have Birthday Candy running this month so check it out here to be in with a chance to win your choice of ribbon from Fantastic Ribbon.

Fluffy Stuff Overload

There is a new challenge today at Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog, and the theme to play along with this week is a sketch.  I needed to make a card for a colleague who has a similar taste to me in terms of cute fluffy bears, so I've effectively made a card that I would like to receive myself.  I used my favourite Toby Everyday Angel from StampFairy.  Today though, there are no promarkers, no copics, no chalks.  Instead I've coloured Toby using only Fluffy Stuff, heated up to get the texture.  I was not sure how it would look, but I think it looks great, but unfortunately the picture does not do him justice.

With the adorably cute bear, pink colour scheme and beautiful ribbons, this really is my type of card!

HINT : Pop back later today as I will be posting some candy!!!

Make your own flowers

There is a new challenge today at Incy Wincy, and the theme to play along with this week is "Make your own flowers".  We're sponsored by our very own Nikki of Limited Runs who has kindly supplied some digi images for the design team to showcase.

I made a little box base, put my row of pumpkins along each edge and the stary one as a tag, and set off to make my flowers.  They took me literally hours to make, but I do like the effect.

Each petal was cut out separately in the shape of an elongated pear; 12 large 'pears' and 18 small ones.  I then folded each petal in half lengthways, and then folded the sides backwards slightly to take the shape of petals.  I then cut out a snowflake in green as the base of the flower (the snowflake had 6 "sticky out bits" to glue the base petals to!)  I cupped the snowflake and taped it into a cup shape, and filled it with wet glue. I then started to layer my petals into the shape, 2 rows of large petals and 3 rows of smaller petals.

And 3 hours later I had 4 huge handmade flowers !!!

Barry Boo

It is Friday so there is a new release and freebie today at Stamp Fairy.  Today's set is "Barry Halloween Dresses 1".    I've used Barry dressed as a spooky ghostie, and the freebie sentiment.

This has been a great opportunity for me to use one of my new pumpkin charms!!! (I went a bit mad with the credit card and bought about 15 sets of charms (in packs of 10 so that is a lot of charms!) and one of the sets was pumpkins, ideal for Halloween!).

Here is a card I've made using one of the digis from the newly released set.

Please pop on over to Stamp Fairy to see the newly released digi images.  Here's a preview of the full set of Barry Halloween Dresses1:
